Curriculum and Assessment Review publishes its final report

Building a world-class curriculum for all: the Curriculum and Assessment Review publishes its final report

In July 2024, the Government commissioned Professor Becky Francis CBE to convene and chair a panel of experts to conduct a review of the curriculum and assessment system in England, including qualification pathways, across the primary, secondary and 16–19 phases.

This is their statement:

'We are pleased to announce that the Review has today published its final report, Building a world-class curriculum for all. We believe that our vision for a world-leading curriculum and assessment system in England, and the recommendations we set out to achieve it, have the potential to bring about important and lasting change that improves the educational experiences and outcomes of children and young people. We have sought to capitalise on what is working well in our system, and to address what is not, to ensure that more children and young people have access to a high-quality curriculum and assessment system and are supported to achieve and thrive.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your engagement with the Review throughout this process. The collective expertise of the sector has been an instrumental part of the Review and will continue to be crucial as the Government implements changes to the curriculum and assessment system in the coming years.'
